Bianchi has been manufacturing top-of-the-line performance bicycles for over a century, but its new Oltre line paves the way for a first-time venture for the Italian manufacturer: the release of its first hyperbike.
The Oltre platform features the base configuration, Oltre Pro, and the remarkably sleek RC Oltre. To shed any more anticipation, we’ll dive right into the latter. The premium model is intended for serious athletes with their eyes on achieving maximum speed, as Bianchi claims it is intended for World Tour racing and professionals. Moreover, the hyperbike is composed of a lightweight, carbon aero frame and electronic drive train enhanced by the innovative Reparto Corse cockpit. The latter is a central air channel that creates airflow around the legs. Other Reparto Corse elements worth noting are the 5.8-ounce saddle with 3D-printed padding and RC wheels bolstered by carbon fiber rims. Performance-wise, the RC Oltre gains 45 seconds over a 24.85-mile distance and saves up to 17 watts at speeds as high as 31mph.
Moving on to the Oltre Pro, it’s fitted with the air deflector tech, aero handlebar, and virtually every other element of the RC sans the power meter and drivetrain. All in all, it is still a premium model that promotes optimal comfort for “less extreme riders.” One key difference to consider when buying the standard Oltre model is its lack of an air deflector. Regardless, its full-on aero carbon frame and fork still deliver premium performance at a streamlined weight for a wide array of cyclists.
If you’re looking to buy a fully-finished build, Bianchi’s Oltre line ranges between 5,399€-15,149€ (~$5,285-$14,827).
