Benchmade has been incredibly busy in Q2 of 2020, with the Oregon City outfit releasing noteworthy new and updated knives on what feels like a weekly basis. And despite unveiling a trio of knives over the last two weeks, Benchmade has now added to its already robust catalog once again with the ultra-premium 85 Billet Ti Bali-Song Knife.
Like the company’s existing 87 Bali-Song, the new 85 Ti model packs 0.46” thick integral single-piece handles CNC-machined from billet titanium. However, the 87 model’s 4.5″ Wharncliffe blade has been replaced with a slightly shorter 4.4” drop-point blade, though its CPM-S30V steel and 0.124” thickness go unchanged. Blending traditional balisong design with contemporary top-shelf materials, the American made EDC-focused butterfly knife is also guided by stainless steel ball bearings, allowing for incredibly smooth and consistent deployment. Despite boasting a length of 10” when opened (like the 87), the 85’s titanium and S30V construction mean it tips the scales at just 0.33lbs (or 5.29oz). Scheduled for a release in early July, the Benchmade 85 Billet Ti Bali-Song has been priced at $650.
