Benchmade’s Damascus & 24K Gold Proper Is The Ultimate Gent’s Knife

Feb 11, 2020

Category: Gear

With its timeless silhouette and exceptional construction, Benchmade’s Proper slipjoint knife was already one of the best gentleman’s blades on the market. But with the brand’s new Gold Class limited edition, the 319-201 Proper, they’ve vaulted this cutting tool into the realm of legendary heirloom everyday carry gear.

The size and silhouette of this knife remain intact, as does (presumably) the slipjoint mechanism. Where it sees some pretty major upgrades, however, is in the realm of materials. For starters, the sheepsfoot blade is now crafted from a Munin pattern Damasteel. Furthermore, the handle now boasts linen Micarta scales mated to absolutely gorgeous Mokume (AKA “wood grain metal”) bolsters and the whole thing is finished off with jeweled liners and 24K gold-plated hardware. Limited to just 500 examples ever, this elite Benchmade blade will sell for $1,000 starting on March, 3rd.

Purchase: $1,000
