Since the early 2000s, actors, close friends, and adventure motorcycle touring enthusiasts Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor have taken part in ambitious long-range moto journeys that have been documented in television series such as Long Way Round and Long Way Down. Most recently, the two traveled some 13,000 miles through 13 countries over 100 days, from the southern tip of Argentina to Los Angeles for Apple TV+’s Long Way Up.
Aside from them making the arduous two-wheeled trip on a pair of modified all-electric Harley-Davidson Livewire models, another aspect that made this trip unique was the gear Charlie and Ewan wore, which was comprised of specially made equipment from Belstaff—the pair’s go-to moto gear manufacturer. Belstaff is now releasing reproductions of this gear as part of the new Long Way Up Riding Gear Collection. Offered in three colors, are a rugged GORE-TEX and D30-armored adventure touring Long Way Up Jacket and Trousers, while Ewan also gets his own “McGregor Pro” waxed-style riding jacket and leather pants. There’s also Dyneema, D30-armored jeans, and a down-filled lightweight mid-layer puffer jacket. Available for preorder now, the Long Way Up Riding Gear Collection starts at $275 and goes up to $1,675 for the Long Way Up Jacket.
