Bellroy was initially born out of the need for a slimmer, less-bulky wallet in the early 2010s when slimmer-fitting garments began to spike in popularity. And while the company has spent the last decade advancing its design, materials, and production techniques, Bellroy has now unveiled its most advanced wallet range to date with the new Apex Collection.
Made from premium, environmentally certified leather, sourced from several gold-rated, Dutch tanneries, the wallets are constructed using an advanced stitch-less lamination method that allows for an even slimmer, though just as hardwearing of an offering. In addition to a new commuter backpack, the Apex Collection is comprised of two items: the Apex Passport Cover; and the Apex Slim Sleeve — both of which feature RFID-blocking. Measuring 5.6” L x 4.2” W and only 0.6” (17mm) deep, the former comfortably accommodates a passport, some paper money, and other small vital travel documents while the latter is an ultra-slim vertical bifold wallet that can house between 4 and eleven cards. Because these wallets use a pre-molded leather, they don’t need to be broken in like traditional leather wallets. Both items are available in either Onyx or Tan colors, with the Apex Slim Sleeve priced at $129 and the Apex Passport Cover carrying an MSRP of $159.
