B&R Taps Renault’s F1 Lineage For Its Auto-Inspired BR R.S.20 Chronographs

Bell & Ross has garnered devoted followership due to its commitment to timeless design, and its ability to promote that same timelessness through its luxurious, aviation-inspired timepieces. Not surprisingly, the French outfit is also deeply indebted to the Formula 1 racing league, utilizing its sleek, cutting-edge vehicles to influence an ever-evolving mindset toward wristwear. In 2016, the brand even went so far as to join forces with Renault, one of the racing world’s most revered teams, for a series of interesting collaborations.

This year, however, the collaboration has begun to bear the truest of fruit. As part of the pair’s BR R.S.20 Sport Collection, Bell & Ross has announced four new aspirational chronographs, each with a unique black and yellow demeanor. Round or square, fans of the company’s handsome timepieces will be treated to an implementation of the racing world’s “latest technological advances and state-of-the-art materials,” calling upon steel and scratchproof matte-black ceramic cases, skeletonized chronographs, bidirectional rotating bezels, and bespoke graphics, depending on your chosen silhouette. The BR-X1, shown here, depends upon an accurate caliber BR-CAL.313 movement, a satin-polished titanium/ceramic case, and appliqued Super-LumiNova®-filled numerals, keeping it legible during the day’s darkest hours. Head to Bell & Ross’ website to check out the four-piece collection, which ranges anywhere from $4,400, to a jaw-dropping $194,000.
