Since their inception in the early 1970s, personal watercraft (PWC) have evolved at a break-neck pace, becoming lighter, sleeker, and more powerful in an effort to deliver the most thrilling open-water experience possible. In fact, it’s gotten to the point that, these days, many PWCs offer specs comparable to that of a world-class superbike. Perhaps the most impressive of these offerings, however, is Belassi’s ‘Burrasca hypercraft.’
For starters, the name couldn’t be more apt — it’s less a jet ski than it is an uncompromising performance machine. Handcrafted in Austria using 2,000 individual parts, it features a race-grade composite hull, carbon fiber decking, and high-tech adjustable aluminum sponsons. Up front, the Burrasca makes use of two individual dashboards, with one built around an integrated GPS unit and the other displaying things like navigation, fuel consumption, and even a g-meter. Undoubtedly impressive, but the best part of Belassi’s PWC is easily the engine. Powered by a turbocharged 1602cc marine 3-cylinder, the Burrasca is good for some 320 horses in total, taking it to 62mph in under four seconds before topping out at a face-melting 74mph. While Belassi doesn’t currently have any stateside dealer locations, you can learn more at the link below.
