Living life off of the beaten path can be an attractive proposition for those who seek to satiate their wanderlust, but finding the perfect housing solution to do so — well, that’s a whole different story. In an effort to ease our fears, France’s Beauer has released a line of telescoping campers — dubbed the 2X — to give overlander’s yet another proprietary home on wheels.
Following hot on the heels of the company’s larger, and more robust, 3X camper, the 2X promises to provide a more intimate getaway for interested buyers. In just 60 seconds, the lightweight, 1,764-pound trailer can expand outward into a two-room platform, making way for elaborate interior essentials like a refrigerator, gas stove, and sink. Aesthetically, the 2X is as unique as lightthey come, thanks to its retro exterior stripe and vintage-inspired color palette. Although the camper is made exclusively for Europe, we’re expecting to see the first few variants roaming North America’s vast roadways in the near future; and at a price point of around $41,000, that should happen sooner, rather than later.
