Beats Launches A Colorful & Capable Sibling To Apple’s AirPods

Although Apple owns fellow headphones-maker Beats by Dre, that doesn’t mean the latter company is refraining from producing products that threaten to cannibalize Apple’s own offerings. In fact, they do so pretty often, such as with the new Beats Studio Buds — a high-performing true wireless headphone with a price that undercuts Apple’s AirPods.

The Beats Studio Buds are about as feature-packed as you’d expect for a true wireless earbud released in 2021. They’ve been engineered for high-quality audio playback, with a proprietary 8.2mm, dual-element diaphragm driver and a two-chamber acoustic design for better stereo separation and low harmonic distortion. The lightweight buds also have a focus on comfort with an ergonomically tilted acoustic nozzle that features a laser-cut micro-vent to ensure pressure relief on the eardrum. They’re versatile, too, with quick one-touch pairing to both Apple and Android devices — something you definitely won’t find on AirPods. The Studio Buds have an Active Noise Cancelling feature for when you want to tune out the outside world, along with a Transparency mode for when you want to let it in. Throw in IPX4-rated sweat- and water-resistance, up to 24 hours of battery life, and three available colors, and you might just have the perfect everyday earbud. The Beats Studio Buds are available now from Apple for $150.
