BEAMS & Citizen Dig Into Their ’80s Archives For A Retro Wristwatch

For historical wristwear buffs, the Ana-Digi Temp might strike some heavy chords. The watch was originally released all the way back in 1982 and was lauded as one of the industry’s most cutting-edge offerings. Now, the renowned timepiece creator, Citizen, has teamed up with BEAMS for an all-silver revival of the retro watch.

The BEAMS x Citizen Ana-Digi Temp is an obvious homage to its 40-year-old predecessor, calling upon its unique, recognizable design, automatic calendar window, water-resistant qualities, and a (then) innovative “dual time” feature, implemented for an accurate representation of hours and minutes in differing timezones. During its era, the Ana-Digi was highly sought after due to its futuristic architecture, temperature-gauging thermometer, and utilitarian poise. Naturally, both BEAMS and Citizen sought to recreate the variant in the most honest way possible, opting for the watch’s vintage silver hue over more chaotic colorways and designs. Head over to BEAMS’ website to preorder the throwback for around $245.
