Ballance Whiskey Serving Set

Dec 4, 2019

Category: Food

Ballance is more than just your typical whiskey glass, it’s an elegant serving set inspired by the craftsmanship and balance behind the brand’s renowned 12 year Scotch – Ballantine’s 12.

Designed in collaboration with the Stockholm based team at Front, the set includes five separate pieces, all of which correlate to different aspects of making the whisky itself. The coaster is crafted from oak wood (whiskey casks), while the bowl and spoon are both constructed from copper, paying homage to the copper stills. The shape of the actual balancing water jug up top was inspired by the shape of Ballantine’s 12 bottle, and to top it all off, a spoon balances itself atop the entire setup. The goal for the design team was to create a sculpture with everything you need to create the perfect blend of Ballantine’s 12 including the water and ice. As you may have already guessed from the intricate details, this thing is extremely limited, with only 150 total units hitting the retail scene in the coming months. Check out the video below.
