Throughout the latter half of the 20th Century, the Hawker Harrier “Jump Jet” offered service to several air and naval forces across both the U.S. and Western Europe — representing a strategic breakthrough in avionics design. Now, AVI-8 is releasing the latest additions to their Harrier chronograph series, inspired by the very same “Jump Jets” that flew for the Spanish navy, otherwise know as the “Matador.”

It’s here where AVI-8 left no stone unturned when designing these intricate timepieces. At first glance, the awe-inspiring dynamic of exposed gears and wheels bring the dial to life while a sturdy 44mm case and carved caseback allude to both durability and precision. Each Matador Edition chronograph also hosts the likes of a disc display capable of 1/20th of a second split time measurement, a beveled chamfered edge bezel, piston-like pushers, a hardened mineral convex lens, luminous hands for dimly-lit environments, and a comfortable leather strap for years of continuous wear among many other handy features. Available now for preorder.
