Autotype Design Commissions ICON to Design a Ford Bronco-Inspired Chair

The original iteration of Ford’s emblematic Bronco is one of the most coveted cars from the 20th century, and labeling it as timeless might just be an understatement. In an account of just how revered these nostalgic trucks are, Autotype Design has commissioned a chair inspired by the original Bronco’s backbench, and it’s a seamless addition to any automotive lover’s home.

While Autotype is selling the new release, the ICON Bronco Chair was designed by Jonathan Ward, the founder of ICON 4×4, a SoCal-based restoration shop — the story doesn’t stop there, though. Next up, the chair was manufactured by One For Victory, another California-bred company known for crafting nothing short of gorgeous leather furniture. The final result of this collaborative effort is a handsome homage to the 1966 Ford Bronco’s backseat.

Autotype claims that transforming the backbench into a chair “was no small feat,” and that comes as no surprise when accounting for the meticulous detail put on display. From its linear stitch pattern to overall posture, the only way this could be made more authentic is if it came with the car itself. The ICON Bronco Chair is available in a handful of befitting colors: Verde, Anthracite, Carmel, Navy, and Brown. In addition to these chairs, the ICON Collection consists of a surfeit of Bronco-themed shirts.

If you’re an automotive enthusiast looking to channel the classics in the heart of your living room, then this is simply one of the most unique purchases you can make. The Autotype + ICON Bronco Chair is available through Autotype Design’s website for $1,700.
