August iPhone Operated Smart Lock

Years ago opening your doors with a cell phone was nothing more than a pipe dream, but this year we have seen a handful of gadgets that do just that. Quite possibly the sleekest of the bunch is this newly introduced August iPhone Operated Smart Lock.

Just weeks after we presented the Kevo, designer Yves Behar has unveiled his beautifully crafted August. Working much like the previously introduced gadgetry, this lock uses Bluetooh technology along with their own app and an encrypted locking technology to let you unlock your door with nothing more than a smartphone. The difference with this one versus many of the others we’ve seen is the ability to slide the anodized aluminum circle right over your existing deadbolt lock, making installation a breeze. Expect to spend about $200 on this technology. See it in action below. [Via]
