ABT Boosts Audi’s Once-Tame RS 7 Twin-Turbo Sport Sedan To 730HP

At first glance, Audi’s RS 7 might not seem like the most ambitious performance platform. Sure, it features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine that’s good for around 592 horsepower, but beyond that, it’s your run-of-the-mill luxury sedan. That doesn’t sit well with ABT, a German tuner lauded for its enhancement of Audi’s modern platforms.

To bring the car into the world of high-end automotive performance, ABT has decided to gift the RS 7 with some much-needed external (and internal) upgrades. The company’s aptly-named RSR-7, which demarcates its admittance into the lauded “R” Series lineup, has been boosted to a miraculous 730 horsepower and 679 lb-ft of torque, thanks to ABT’s Power R pack. Though exact details on the car’s upgraded components haven’t been released, it’s safe to assume that it’s undergone a similar transformation as its predecessors, calling upon a new exhaust system, ECU upgrades, and an enhanced intercooler to deal with the engine’s increased output. To help the car stick to the road a bit better, a set of coil-overs and various aerodynamic carbon components have been added, reducing the RS’s weight and enhancing its handling abilities.
