On top of the fame and fortune, one of the many perks involved in being a bonafide rockstar is getting to have your pick of pretty much any vehicle you want. And while many A-list auto enthusiasts tend to lean towards the more high-dollar hypercar end of the spectrum, there are celebrities who are a little more down-to-earth and instead prefer customizing “regular” rides, such as Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker with his one-off 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer.
Slated to cross the Barrett-Jackson auction block at the outfit’s forthcoming Scottsdale 2020 sale and offered sans reserve, Barker’s bespoke Blazer boasts a variety of off-road truck upgrades including Bilstein shocks and blacked-out Black Rock rims shod in beefy Nitto Trail Grappler tires. At the heart of the SUV is a new LS3 8.6L V8 that’s mated to a three-speed transmission and has seen less than 2,000 miles since being dropped into the Chevy. Cosmetic tweaks to the SUV include white taillights, matte black bumpers, trim, and grille, LED fog lights sitting flush in the front bumper, 7” LED headlights from Vision X, and a custom gunmetal grey paint job. The interior of the car has been treated to bespoke leather seats, modern Dakota Digital instrumentation, and what we’re assuming is one hell of an aftermarket sound system.
