Auction Block: The Sáragga Car Collection

While we absolutely understand the desire to collect cars, the practice is an expensive and difficult-to-manage one that few can afford in money, time, and space. But it’s those exact roadblocks that make large collections of rare automobiles so impressive. This particular one, called The Sáragga Collection, is comprised of over 130 remarkable cars across dozens of marques and production years — all from a single owner. And now, they’re all headed to auction.

Started over three decades ago with a small set of rare Mercedes-Benz models, Mr. Sáragga’s car collection is an exemplification of his exemplary taste and dedication. To be held at his estate in the beach paradise of Comporta, Portugal, the auction is an unprecedented one, to say the least. While every immaculate vehicle is remarkable in its own way, some highlights include seven Porsche 911s from across the years, a 1962 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL, 1961 Jaguar E-Type, 1988 Ferrari 208 GTS Turbo, and so many others. Best of all, the entirety of the auction is going to the block without reserve. Through RM Sotheby’s, The Sáragga Collection auction will be held on September 20th and 21st later this year.
