Actor Steve McQueen of The Great Escape and Papillon fame was an avid motorcycle collector before his death in 1980. In fact, he once owned a 1934 Indian Sport Scout that will soon be put up for auction.
The Indian Sport Scout owned by the once popular actor was a slimmer version of the classic Indian Scout model. It ran on a 750 cc engine, and McQueen’s particular cycle sported an impressive ivory and black paint job. The bike had an open frame and a Euro-style fork. Even with the awful seat set-up, it’s expected to reach a sale price between $83,600 and $99,000 USD when it goes up for auction through Bonhams on October 18 at Staffordshire County Showground.
