Although Neil Peart may be best known for his wizardry on the drumset, as it turns out, the late Rush musician also had quite a taste for cars throughout his lifetime. And now, in a rare once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, his entire collection is going up for sale.
Colloquially know as Peart’s ‘Silver Surfers,’ it’s comprised of a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window coupe, 1964 Aston Martin DB5, 1964 Jaguar E-Type Series I coupe, 1964 Shelby Cobra 289, 1965 Maserati Mistral Spyder, 1970 Lamborghini Miura P400S, and even a 1973 Maserati Ghibli 4.9 SS coupe. As such, it’s hard to decide which car is the headliner here, as Peart managed to accumulate numerous automotive icons from both sides of the pond. Sure, the Shelby is quite literally the black sheep of the bunch (and allegedly his pride and joy), but the Mistral and Ghibli are pretty rare beasts themselves, among just 125 and 425 other examples, respectively. In any case, no matter which car strikes your fancy, know that it’s coming in pristine condition, cared for by one of the music industry’s greatest. Peart’s collection heads to auction August 13th-14th.
