One of the most important qualities for a collector vehicle to have is a solid pedigree. Aside from having the goods, of course, a pedigree of ownership establishes rarity and exclusivity to the car, as well as adds value to it if the owner is a celebrity of sorts. We say all of that because we’ve found a pristine historical icon that also has a celebrity pedigree to boot: a 1970 Ford Bronco that was owned by former Formula One champion, Jenson Button.

The classic Bronco is one of the great American-made automotive icons. It has a ravenous following that has transitioned into the modern era, especially with the release of Ford’s updated Bronco. With that said, nothing quite beats the classics when it comes to this OG SUV. This particular example is a custom truck based on the first generation of the 4×4, and it’s received some welcome upgrades courtesy of Button. Performance-wise, this Bronco is powered by a naturally aspirated and fuel-injected 4.9L small-block Bronco V8 engine that’s mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Aside from a Fitech fuel injection upgrade, this Bronco features an Edelbrock filter and an MSD ignition kit with a push-button start to modernize its feel. Other user-friendly modifications include a Borgeson power steering rack and a new polished steering column, which will do your grip and forearms a huge favor while you handle this car. Finally, this Bronco has received plenty of off-road modifications too, including a raised suspension with Bilstein shock absorbers, 17-inch Method alloy wheels with 35-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires, added KC driving lamps, a side window delete, and a half roll cage.

From an aesthetic standpoint, this Bronco is a head-turner in all the best ways. Its exterior sports a handsome dark blue finish that is perfectly complemented by the red accents on its front grille, tow hooks, and Ford badge. The dark blue finish allows the smooth, cream interior to pop wonderfully, if we do say so ourselves. While this isn’t a period-accurate Ford Bronco, it is undoubtedly a gorgeous car that has undergone a tasteful modernization to go along with its prestigious ownership history. Bidding has currently reached $85,000 on Collecting Cars, with three days left in the auction.
