Auction Block: 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster

May 28, 2015

Category: Rides

It may only be some 16 years old, but the 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster does indeed fall under rare gem status.

For starters, there were only 35 originally built, with just six of those being roadsters. Top it all off with this particular car having only four miles on the odometer and you can see why it’s expected to reel in up to $2.8 million when it hits the auction block June 26 at a Bonhams event during the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Apparently an anonymous Dutch investor is ready to collect his cash and part ways with it. With a 6.9-liter V12 engine producing 604 horsepower, a 0-62 time of 3.8 seconds, and a top speed of 199 mph, whomever drives away with this bombshell will have a hard time not gunning it out of the parking lot.
