The Acura NSX is already one of the most sought-after vehicles in the automotive world. Its lineage is undeniable, and its rarity has made it a key model for the genre’s most enthusiastic import collectors. So when we saw that an even rarer version of the car was listed for sale on Bring A Trailer, we nearly fell out of our seats.
The 1999 Acura NSX Zanardi Edition that you see here is one of only 51 models to ever be released. As the final model to depart from the production line (#51), this single-owner platform already has the upper hand on its peers, thanks to its established history. The fact that it only has 12,000 miles on the odometer separates it even further. Needless to say, the car has been kept in immaculate condition. A “New Formula Red” and “Onyx” colorway pays homage to the vehicle’s most recognizable hue, while a fixed roof panel, subtle rear spoiler, and single-pane glass shed additional weight from the race-spec model. Seeing as the special-edition NSX was built in homage to the established Italian race car driver, Alex Zanardi, the car was also gifted with an improved suspension system, manual rack-and-pinion steering, and a 290-horsepower, 3.2-liter DOHC V6 engine. The rare vehicle is currently available via Bring A Trailer, where it’s believed to sell for $215,000 or more.
