While Jonathan Ward may be best known for his restomod work with ICON 4×4, that’s far from his only automotive pursuit. In fact, long before he had even founded ICON, Ward was supporting the Land Cruiser community through his comprehensive Toyota service center, TLC. To this day, it remains one of the nation’s leading restoration outfits, pumping out eye-catching builds of every generation.
Just take this 1995 Toyota Land Cruiser being offered on Bring a Trailer, for instance. The product of a Stage Three TLC transformation, the FZJ80 comes with upgrades inside and out. Under the hood, it hides a 6.2L LS3 V8 taken from a Corvette, now mated to a four-speed automatic and a rebuilt dual-range transfer case. What’s more, it rides on markedly improved suspension, with the stock setup ditched in favor of some components sourced from Old Man Emu, Fox Racing, and Slee Offroad. And when it comes to visual improvements, TLC has certainly spared no expense. In addition to black vinyl wrap and some JDM-lighting, the build also comes with a RotopaX fuel canister, a RiGid UltraSwing tire mount, and even a compatible camp table. The interior is no less impressive, trimmed in black bison leather and finished with an Alcantara headliner. Add to that some Focal speakers, a set of ICON-branded sun visors and pedals, and a Pioneer touchscreen display, and you’re left with a Land Cruiser that’s about as complete as they come.
Rolling on some 17″ Walker Evans Racing wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, it shows just 6,000 miles since the rebuild. With six days left in the auction, you can bid on it now for $95,800.
