Military vehicles are some of the most rugged and bulletproof machines on earth, specifically designed and engineered to stand up to just about anything you can throw at them. So, when looking to convert an SUV or pickup to off-road spec, military mounts serve as an incredibly ideal platform — which was exactly the logic behind the conversion of this ex-military 1993 Land Rover Defender 130.
Reportedly purchased new by the Turkish military, the 130 spent a decade in service before being sold to a private party. In 2019, the right-hand-drive specimen was treated to an extensive off-road transformation with a 4” lift kit, 16” wheels shod in 37” tires, auxiliary LED lighting, a roof rack, custom bumpers, an integrated winch, a KBX grille, and fender flares inspired by the Spectre-edition Defender. The build’s also received a Santorini Black livery and a bespoke interior, while under the hood is a 3.5L V8 married to a five-speed manual transmission. This custom 1993 Land Rover Defender 130 is currently for sale on Bring A Trailer in New Jersey, where bidding has reached $60,000 as of the time of writing.
