In recent years Land Rover’s much-revered Defender has become an increasingly popular platform for off-roading and overloading conversions. Based on a 1990 Defender 110, this overloading camper convert is kicked along by a turbocharged, 3.9L, OHV, direct-injection diesel, inline-four engine — the same mill used in the ’86-’91 Isuzu NPR and Chevrolet W4500. With a modified chassis and suspension system, the classic off-roader now rides on half-a-dozen Maxtrac Blindo wheels shod in BF Goodrich KO2 tires.
