In 1987, the Lamborghini Countach was the pinnacle of vehicle performance, luxury, and styling. Today, it is still widely considered one of the greatest cars ever conceived. It’s also still one of the most exclusive. And this one, a 5000 QV by Bertone, is even more unique. That’s because it is a special edition of which only 2 were ever made. And now it’s going to auction.
What makes this supercar so extra exclusive – aside from its obviously iconic styling and performance – is that it features specially made gold trim on both the interior and exterior. Yes, the steering column, instrument panel, gear shifter, interior door handles, door sills, badging, and exhaust pipe tips are all plated with gold. 14-karat gold, to be precise. Which matches brilliantly with its white paint job and white leather interior. It was also recently restored by Polo Storico and was confirmed by Lamborghini to be only one of two to ever come off the line with its specifications. It will be auctioned off on May 27th, 2017 in Lake Cuomo, Italy by RM Sotheby’s.
