Auction Block: 1979 Chevrolet ‘A-Team’ Van

First debuting in 1983, The A-Team was an immensely popular action TV show following a fictitious group of ragtag special forces personnel as they take on various adventures and adversaries in their customized van. Now boasting a legendary status only shared by iconic 1980s TV and movie cars such as Knight Rider’s “KITT” and The Dukes Of Hazzard’s “General Lee,” The A-Team’s modified adventure van is slated to soon cross the auction block.

The 1979 specimen was one of half-a-dozen examples created by Universal Studios for promotional uses in and around the US and Canada, as the examples used in the production of the show were largely destroyed during filming. As such, the Chevy features the classic orange-accented black and silver livery, spoiler and front air dam, BFG-wrapped 14-spoke American Racing wheels, and a quad-tip exhaust setup. Inside, the car sports a front sunroof, four captain’s seats, CB radio, a passenger door-mounted Uzi SMG, a wall-mounted shotgun and assault rifle, and a rear French door-style gate that opens to reveal a rearward-facing deck-mounted belt-fed machine gun. Offered without a reserve price, the 1979 Chevrolet ‘A-Team’ Van is scheduled to take its turn crossing the block at Worldwide Auctioneers’ upcoming Scottsdale sale on January 23, 2021.
