The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is one of the greatest vehicles ever built. Every so often we see one that teeters on the verge of perfection, and this 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 that hit the auction block a few years back is just that.

Typically 4×4 enthusiasts opt for a more subdued, subtle paint job. And while that’s fine and dandy, something about this bright Freeborn Red coat complete with a Cygnus White hardtop just screams automotive perfection. Under the hood is the original 135 horsepower inline six mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and part time AWD for off-road excursions. Unfortunately for those of you looking to add this beauty to your collection, it has already sold for a price $77,000. That doesn’t mean you can’t bask in its glory though.
