Auction Block: 1972 Nissan Skyline

In the United States, Nissan is known primarily for their budget-friendly sedans that, while reliable, are not particularly impressive. In their home country, however, the Japanese brand has a penchant for releasing some very quick little sports cars. Their most legendary vehicle being the Skyline – like the stunning 1972 year model you see before you.

Though the car itself is nearly five decades old, it’s actually been very well kept and even saw some upgrades that bring it into the present moment. For instance, while it has all the trappings of a classic (like the hood-mounted side-view mirrors) some of the other accouterments are actually brand-new – such as the carbon fiber fender flares. The modifications can be found elsewhere, too – like improved brakes and suspension, a limited-slip differential, Recaro seats, a 4-point roll bar, just to name a few. And the whole gorgeous ride is powered by an equally beautiful 3.2-liter inline-six engine from Rebello Racing, good for 340 horsepower. Unfortunately, as of this writing, the car’s auction has already ended – but we imagine, as Japanese classics become more popular, we’ll see more examples of this breathtaking car hit the auction block.
