Auction Block: 1972 Maserati Boomerang

We’re no stranger to strange concept cars, and we’ve certainly seen our share of headscratchers over the last few years. But one of the most unique concept cars to ever be shown was the Maserati Boomerang, a futuristic-looking sci-fi mobile that mixed a Maserati with a DeLorean.

This one-off Maserati prototype was built on the Bora’s chassis and was capable of hitting over 180 mph. Believe it or not, this Maserati is road legal, registered and is in incredible operating condition. The pointed nose of the car is unlike anything we’ve ever seen. The Maserati Boomerang is a one-of-a-kind build, and it will be up for auction this September 5th in France at Bonham’s Chantilly Sale. [Purchase]
