Auction Block: 1971 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTV
Any gearhead can tell you that famed manufacturer Alpha Romeo is synonymous with car racing. Which makes sense, considering that they’ve been in the racing game since 1911 – just a year after they were founded. Although, while this 1971 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTV certainly looks the part and is valid for classic car hill-climb rally contention, it isn’t actually original. It’s a replica.
But its inauthenticity is hardly a drawback, as it was modeled exactly after the original racing car – in accordance with the owner’s wishes. All of its parts are period-correct and, other than in title, it is an entirely indistinguishable clone. It even features a stripped-down racing-style interior with a single bucket seat and complete lack of inappropriate accoutrements. With only 36,828 miles on the odometer, this gorgeous blacked-out rally racer is going to make some collector very happy indeed. [Purchase]
