Auction Block: 1970 International Scout 800

Category: Rides

For a little while, the International Scout looked like it was going to go down in the annals of history as a forgotten classic. But, in recent days, renewed popularity has elicited some excellent examples of the SUV. Few of them, however, are quite as pristine as this 1970 800 model – aptly named ‘Copper Mountain.’ And it could be yours.

A restomod courtesy of the folks at New Legend 4×4, this gorgeous off-roader has been reinvigorated with a brand new LS 5.3-liter engine – boasting 300 horsepower – mated to a 4-speed transmission under the hood. It’s also benefitted from a reworked interior (with new canvas and leather upholstery and accents), as well as a protective urethane coating on the bed and underside. Our favorite part of this old-meets-new gem of a 4×4, however, is that it still retains its original copper paint job and the patina it acquired over the years. You can park this bad boy in your garage for $62,000.

Purchase: $62,000
