Ford’s Mustang pony car, which was originally released in 1965, is about as close to an instant classic as anything. But the specially-tuned versions that came out of the Shelby workshop are even more impressive – and more coveted, as a result. But finding a well-kept example done up in Highland Green (the same color as the ‘Stang from Bullitt) is the holy grail of muscle cars – and now one is up for sale.

A 1968 GT500 KR, this American powerhouse is something special, indeed. And that’s all the more evident when you consider the 335-horsepower 428 Cobra Jet V8 engine under the hood – which is believed to be the original. The pristine paint job and power plant are also complemented perfectly by a classic brown and black interior, with wooden dash accents and leather seating.
