Auction Block: 1966 Jaguar E-Type Roadster

It was back in 1961 during the Geneva Motor Show when Jaguar first introduced the E-Type. Almost instantly a classic, the new iteration (purposed to improve upon the XK 120) boasted a top speed of 150 mph, an independent rear suspension, and a 4.2-liter powerplant later introduced in 1965. In fact, it was Enzo Ferrari himself who laid claim that the E-Type was, in his opinion, the most beautiful car ever made.

Now, this clean original is set to hit the auction block – adorned in black across the sleek exterior and through the ride’s leather-bound interior. Under the hood is an inline 6-cylinder engine with an output of 265 bhp managed via a four-speed manual transmission. It also received a new brake booster, fully adjustable seatbacks, and a new and fully furnished gearbox during its production as well. Certainly an ideal weekender companion across those windy mountain roads.

Purchase: $250,000+
