Chevrolet’s Split-Window Corvette is already one of the most sought after vehicles on the planet, but every so often, an overly-immaculate specimen makes its way to market. This 1963 custom coupe is one such variant — a beautifully-restored model that’s among the finest we’ve ever seen, and a testament to the iconoclastic nature of the coveted classic.
The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Split-Window Coupe you see here has spent the majority of its life living as any other classic vehicle would. Until 2019, it was kept in moderate condition and seldom driven, but once it fell into the hands of Jeff Hayes Customs, it became a passion project for the shop’s talented craftsmen. A new Art Morrison chassis, complete with bespoke front and rear sway bars, Wilwood brakes, and a set of Strange Engineering’s self-dampening shocks help to bring the classic vehicle into modernity, while a chrome steering column, Billet steering wheel, and awe-inspiring red upholstery round out the vehicle’s interior. Below its hood, a monstrous 540 horsepower GM LS3 V8 engine brings the Split-Window to life. Head to Barrett -Jackson’s website to learn more about the beautiful build, and register to bid for the Palm Beach 2020 auction, where the 1963 Corvette is set to debut.
