Auction Block: 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing

Bring a Trailer has, in our opinion, changed the automotive auction industry for the better by making it easier and more accessible to the masses than ever before. But that accessibility has also allowed for poor listing quality at times — due primarily to folks who are not particularly technologically-inclines using it. But the brand has just unrolled a suite of premium services designed to improve listing quality and, thusly, the likelihood your vehicle will sell. And the first offering to utilize these services is this absolutely stunning 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing.

Though this particular car — which was owned by just two families from its initial sale through to 2013 when BaT picked it up — was already in very good condition. But it did benefit from a number of restorations — including reupholstering its interior, a complete factory engine rebuild, redone brakes, an undercarriage cleaning, and some minor cosmetic touches. And the whole process was documented extensively to ensure the vehicle was well cared-for. Now finished, this automotive icon is ready to go to a good home. But it won’t go cheaply, as the current bid at the time of this article sits at $1,000,000.

Purchase: $1,000,000+
