While Willys produced some of the most iconic utilitarian and military vehicles in early American automotive history, the Ohio company’s cars leave a lot to be desired in terms of performance, relative to today’s auto offerings. Wanting to capture the character and feel of a vintage Willys pickup without giving up modern performance capabilities, Canada’s Fueled Toyz set about creating the ultimate Willys restomod 4×4 off-roader.
Starting with a 1955 Willys pickup, the shop has placed the donor’s coachwork atop the frame of a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, with the bodywork being modified to accommodate the larger, now supercharged 3.6L Pentastar V6 that powers the restomod. Calgary’s Cascade Vans was tasked with crafting the truck’s wildly modern and plush interior and custom doors. Other off-road upgrades include a jerry can rack, custom off-road exhaust system, Model A taillights, HID headlights, ABS-linked disc brakes all around, Poison Spider bumpers, swing-away spare tire carrier, onboard air compressor, and 3.5″ Rock Krawler long-arm lift kit. This beautifully executed restomod is currently available on Bring A Trailer in Portland, Oregon, where bidding (as of the time of writing) has reached $36,000.
