Having trouble deciding between a Jeep, a station wagon, and a camper? Why not pick up a vehicle that combines all three, like this ultra-quirky 1949 Willys Jeep Station Wagon Camper that’s being auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s?
This ‘49 Willys Jeep Wagon is a rear-wheel-drive example powered by an inline-four engine mated to a three-speed column-shift manual transmission. It underwent a period conversion to a camping vehicle and comes equipped with a Camp’otel collapsible tent with a ladder, dual water tanks, and storage unit all mounted to the roof. Also included are what appear to be original folding tables and cookware that likely came with the Camp’otel unit, making this wagon just as prepared for camping as it was back in its heyday. The vehicle, which boasts both Jeep and Willys Overland badging, underwent some cosmetic restoration at some point in its lifetime with a beguiling metallic green paint job and matching green vinyl interior. With just over 36,000 miles on the odometer, this 1949 Willys Jeep Station Wagon Camper is set to be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s from May 5 through May 13th and is expected to fetch between $40,000 and $50,000.
