Originally developed for the military, the Willys Jeep CJ-2A can be credited as the classic SUV that started it all. And this post-war 1947 example, which is in exceptional condition considering its age, could be yours.
Up for auction on Bring A Trailer, this CJ was purchased by its first owner in Silverton, Oregon — where he kept it until 2008, before selling it to its second and present owner. And while it was still in remarkable condition — including its stock 134ci Go Devil flathead inline-four engine — the second owner put it through a comprehensive body-off refurbishment — including a suspension overhaul, an update to the fuel system, and the addition of new Firestone Military NDT tires — to bring it back into tip-top shape. Offered with a clean title and just 1,200 miles since the refurbishment, this Picket Gray automotive icon has a current price of $13,000 — but that’s likely to jump some in the three days that are left on the auction.
