There’s no shortage of bespoke upgrades when it comes to ASICS’ classic shoe silhouettes. The iconic GEL-Lyte III, in particular, strikes us as one of the most revised` platforms in the manufacturer’s history, boasting a veritable slew of one-off styles that take the shoe to a higher threshold. Now atmos, a leading style outfit in Tokyo, has decided to elaborate on the GEL-Lyte III even further.
The atmos x ASICS GEL-Lyte III “NEXKIN” is a superbly-realized renovation of the classic, boasting two differential colorways that reference the light and dark side of footwear. The shoes are outfitted with ASICS’ proprietary textile, known as NEXKIN, producing an exceptionally lightweight and breathable style that’s been catered toward summer wear. White leather and black suede adorn the upper of each shoe, while translucent outsoles, reflective 3M tape, and visible branding serve to influence the GEL-Lyte’s intricate demeanor. To set the shoe’s apart, atmos has opted to introduce both a pale blue and dark green camouflage to each example. Look for the atmos x ASICS GEL-Lyte III “NEXKIN” to hit shelves on August 3 for approximately $140.
