Art Director

Type: Full Time

The Art Director will play an integral role in defining our brand’s identity across multiple platforms. As part of our in-house creative team, the Art Director will be responsible for maintaining our design-centric aesthetic while exploring new ways to expand and develop our brand identity. Leveraging intuitive design talent, the Art Director must have have an ability to tell authentic stories across web, social, print, and video with a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and refine the brand’s visual identity across all platforms
  • Oversee the creation of all digital, print, and video assets – from conception to execution
  • Manage creative team, and oversee all photography and video shoots ensuring deliverables are on brand and deadlines are met
  • Work alongside our management, editorial, and sales teams to conceptualize and execute successful content campaigns (sponsored & earned)
  • Work cross functionally with web development team to maintain and refresh our website
  • Tactile functionality to bring projects across the finish line; be ready to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with any creative assignments (everyone here is a team player)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design/Photography/Marketing or relevant creative field of study
  • 4+ years of experience working in creative industry, ideally with some experience leading a creative team
  • High degree of proficiency across entire Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, etc)
  • Must possess an eye for great design, and ability to translate our brands and products through compelling imagery, illustrations, and videos
  • Experience recruiting, managing and mentoring creative, photo, and/or video teams
  • Strong portfolio (photography, graphic design and/or video), preferably with an emphasis on subject matters related to HICONSUMPTION
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines; this is a fast-paced environment and we expect everyone to keep up
  • Experience multitasking and tracking several projects simultaneously
  • Experience in graphic design & layout, web design, and a strong handle on typography
  • Must posses a strong appreciation for well designed products, gear, architecture, and all things automotive
  • Must possesses a great attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and love working in a team environment
  • Comfortable receiving constructive criticism, and translating into creative output
  • Must possess a strong, creative mindset with the ability to solve design problems while thinking outside of the box
