Ariel Nomad
Ariel Motor Company, the folks behind the frenetic and world renowned Atom, are ready to apply their magic touch to the dune buggy.
The Ariel Nomad is an open-air, rear-wheel drive off-roader that promises to tear through terrain with a ton of ferocious energy. The vehicle is making its official debut on January 9, but we do know that it’ll feature a 2.4-liter engine with around 200 horsepower, four knobbly off-road tires, a six-speed Honda manual transmission, a reinforced underbody, a brawny brush guard, heavy-duty roll cage, two seats, and a curb weight of less than 1,600 pounds. Concerns about a 4×4 version might be addressed in the future, but for now, Ariel seems quite confident in the Nomad’s ability to wow the world in a week and a half. [Purchase]
