Arc’teryx remains one of the outdoor industry’s most prominent proprietors, and when it comes to the realm of tactical gear, the company’s LEAF segment is hard to beat. Now, the utilitarian branch has announced a handful of new gear for 2020, with the Cold WX Gen 2 Jacket line taking top honors.
The Arc’teryx LEAF Cold WX Gen 2 Jacket Collection features two new silhouettes — the aptly-named Jacket, and Hoody. On the exterior, the company hasn’t pulled any punches, opting for the inclusion of a two-layer Gore Windstopper material and ruggedized polyester to complement the jackets’ enhanced insulation properties. Below the WX capsule’s 40-denier outer shells, a hydrophobic Climashield Prism Fiberfill insulation system promotes adequate heat retention, while fending off external inhibitors like wind and rain. The result? A pair of tactically-inclined jackets that are lighter than their predecessors, but perform in parallel. Head to the company’s website to check out the entire lineup for $530+.
