“You gave us your time, now we are giving you yours”. That was the sentiment behind the old tradition of giving retirees gold watches after they spent 30 or 40 years at the same company. Now, much like the company men they celebrated, gold watches are become more and more rare. Taking their place? Rose gold timepieces.
Despite the seemingly effeminate name, rose gold features a much darker, more masculine look to it than yellow gold. These deeper red tones are a result of the higher amount of copper alloy in the gold. Slightly less copper gives you pink gold, slightly more give you red. Rose, however, serves as a great middle ground – making it an attractive material for watch makers to use. In fact, some of the best watch makers out there today have rose gold versions of their most popular timepieces. We’ve collected some of our favorite here. Take a look through and see of any on our list of the best rose gold watches stands out to you.
