Micro Lofts At The Arcade Providence
Shopping malls are quickly becoming a thing of the past, fighting to stay relevant in a world full of things like Amazon Dash. Many retail tenants simply jump ship, until the mall becomes 100 percent vacant, and ends up being nothing more than an abandoned eyesore. That isn’t the case with the gorgeous Arcade Providence Micro-Lofts.
What used to be a bustling shopping mall has now been transformed into a community of urban lofts in Providence, Rhode Island. This three-story complex is America’s oldest indoor shopping mall, dating back almost 200 years. The team at Northeast Collaborative Architects capitalized on this rich history, turning the old structure into 48 micro-lofts, spanning 225 to 300 square feet each. While the top two floors are allocated to living lofts, the bottom floor features new retail and plenty of entertainment for residents of the building. These cozy one bedroom units start at $550 per month.
