With the unveiling of Apple’s second-gen Airpods, high-end audio connoisseurs were left with reasonable doubt in the back of their minds — especially those who were expecting their next pair of exercise-proven, sweat-resistant headphones. While the audacious earbuds didn’t quite deliver where it mattered most, the company’s upcoming Powerbeats Pro sport headphones are set to fit the bill.
Thanks to 9to5Mac, leaked images of the tech giant’s exercise-oriented next-gen wireless earbuds, the Powerbeats Pro, were recently revealed. Sporting the same silhouette and aesthetic as the brand’s Powerbeats3, the Powerbeats Pro forgo the use of traditionally-wired audio peripherals and opt, instead, for a “true wireless design.” Various components from the original Airpods are believed to have made their way into the new Powerbeats Pro, including “Hey Siri” support, fast pairing, IOS compatibility, and various color options. While pricing and tech specs haven’t been released quite yet, if the brand’s original Powerbeats 3 are anything to go off, the newly introduced Powerbeats Pro should have an asking price of roughly $250. The new headphones are rumored to hit retail next month.
