The iPhone 8 will likely be overshadowed in today’s coverage of the Apple Event. Not because it isn’t incredibly capable or featuring impressive new technology. It just isn’t the iPhone X. But it still deserves your attention.
This new middle-child of the iPhone family packs a punch. It features a glass back that allows for more seamless and efficient Qi wireless charging, and has a new A11 Bionic chip that is a whopping 70 percent faster than the A10 Fusion chip. That means much higher performance while playing games, and better image processing. And this is where the iPhone 8 really excels. The phone boasts two 12 megapixel cameras on its back that can shoot 4K video at 60fps, and 1080p slo-mo at 240fps and displays them in stunning detail on its Retina HD screen. In addition to these features, the iPhone 8 has an improved portrait mode and something that Apple is calling Portrait Lighting. This allows users to pick from five different lighting styles to capture stunning images with jus the touch of a button. Oh yeah. And it won’t cost you a grand.
