Considering the leap to 4K? Sure. Or you can just make the leap straight to 5K with Apple’s new premium 27-inch iMac.

The iMac with Retina 5K display uses a new material, oxide TFT, and the same tech used in the Retina iPad to deliver brilliantly sharp images via 14.7 million pixels (5,120×2,880 display), even though the system uses 30 percent less energy than the last iMac generation. Checking the specs, you’ll find a 3.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz and configurable to a 4.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 with Turbo Boost up to 4.4GHz. On the memory front, there’s 8GB (two 4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 and four user-accessible SO-DIMM slots for up to 32GB of memory. The graphics are handled by the default Radeon R9 290X with 2GB of GDDR5 memory, or upgrade to an AMD Radeon R9 M295X with 4GB of GDDR5 memory. Other features include 802.11ac Wi-Fi,Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth 4.0; an SDXC card slot; four USB 3.0 ports; dual Thunderbolt 2 ports; dual mics, and stereo speakers. [Purchase]
