The 16″ MacBook Pro Boasts The Largest Retina Display Of Any Apple Notebook
Since the release of the first MacBook Pro back in 2006, Apple’s flagship laptop has set the standard in the ever-increasingly sophisticated segment, and that tradition is very much continued with the freshly unveiled 16-inch Mac Book Pro. Backed by an AMD Radeon Pro 5000M video card, the new 16-inch screen is the largest Retina display ever seen on an Apple notebook, packing 500 nits of brightness and utilizing liquid crystal molecules to deliver remarkably crisp, vibrant, and dynamic colors. The new MBP also sports a revised Magic Keyboard setup with an improved scissor mechanism.
Beneath the alloy unibody chassis the system gets an Intel Core i9 processor with double the performance of the outgoing quad-core MPB, and an up to 64GB of 2666MHz DDR4 memory, though there’s an optional 8TB SSD upgrade for an additional $2.2K. Battery life is rated at up to 11-hours thanks to a new 100-Wh lithium-polymer battery, which is the highest capacity unit ever shoehorned into a Mac notebook. Other noteworthy features bestowed upon the latest MacBook Pro include Apple’s T2 Security Chip, Thunderbolt 3, a studio-grade three-mic microphone, and a six-speaker sound system. The MacBook Pro 16″ starts at $2,399.
