With a large portion of the world’s automotive shows and premieres falling to the wayside due to recent events, companies like Apex Motor have been relegated to the realm of online platform announcements. The outfit’s new AP-O — a sleek, sensual Super-Sports EV Concept slated for release sometime in 2022 — arrives as the car world’s newest infatuation.

The Apex AP-O EV borrows heavily from Formula 1 race cars, boasting dramatic design principles like an aerodynamic rear fin, front splitter, three-piece LED headlights, and aerodynamic slots that allow air to pass through its bodywork. Vertical, length-running taillights at the vehicle’s rear serve to complement its butterfly doors, magnificent rear diffuser, and carbon bodywork. But it’s what’s below the hood that counts — a 320-mile, 90 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor capable of pumping out an indomitable 650 horsepower — allowing it to accelerate from 0-62 miles-per-hour in just 2.3 seconds. It also utilizes an interesting LiDAR sensor system to map its surroundings, calling upon a Level 3 semi-autonomous driving system to accurately discern pedestrians, objects, and road hazards for its driver. Look for the sleek super-sport to hit stockists in 2022 for an estimated $185,816+.
